KUAOTUNU DUSK

Edition Size: 50 Signed & Numbered Prints

Location: Kuaotunu Beach, Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand

I will always remember arriving at the small settlement of Kuaotunu and scoping out the composition of a photograph to take. As the late afternoon turned into a stunning sunset I started shooting this composition of the estuary. After the sun completely set I was rewarded with an amazing but very brief period of dusk light and managed to just put a few frames away before this scene disappeared.

Landscape Photography of New Zealand

Photographing the New Zealand landscape has been my passion for over two decades and has taken me on an amazing journey. I still feel that I am just getting started as I continue to search and find new locations which are often off-the-beaten-track. I am as enthralled by landscape photography today as I was the day I started and love the challenge of following the light to find another amazing scene. Today my photographs are available as high-end limited edition prints and I operate photo tours which take clients on an amazing photo journey with me.

INFORMATION

Archival Cotton Rag Print

Printed on museum-grade Canson Infinity cotton rag paper using pigment inks for maximum archival permanence. The softly textured surface gives a painterly, matte finish with rich, accurate tones and deep detail. Each print is personally proofed and produced to the highest standards, ideal for those wanting a timeless fine-art piece.

Archival Canvas Print

Printed on a premium archival cotton–poly blend canvas and sealed with a UV-protective coating for lasting longevity. The fine matte texture enhances depth and tonal richness, giving the image a soft, painterly feel with excellent colour fidelity.
Each piece can be float-framed for a beautifully finished presentation, or stretched for a clean, contemporary frameless look. Perfect for interiors seeking an elegant artwork with warmth, texture, and enduring clarity.

Fujiflex Crystal Archive Facemount

A high-gloss photographic print with exceptional sharpness and vibrancy, produced on Fujiflex Crystal Archive media and face-mounted to clear acrylic. The process gives a sense of depth and luminosity that brings the image to life. The frameless design and hanging system allows the artwork to seemingly 'float' off the wall, creating a modern and striking presence in any space

Framing

With more than twenty years of experience working with clients, I have developed a strong understanding of the framing process and the important role it plays in presenting fine art photography. I now provide framing exclusively as an offline, bespoke service, allowing for a more personalised approach.

The Process

All fine art prints (cotton rag and canvas) are purchased unframed through the online store. Once your print order has been placed, please contact me directly if you would like your artwork framed.

Each framed piece is custom finished, professionally assembled, and shipped ready to hang. Framing costs are quoted separately, depending on the materials and specifications chosen.

Materials and Recommendations

When framing my own work, I use and recommend AR70 glass — a premium, non-reflective glazing renowned for its exceptional clarity and UV protection.

Beyond glazing, I work with a curated selection of frame mouldings, archival mat-boards, and mounting techniques, all chosen for their quality and longevity.

Further information about this personalised service can be found in the Consultation tab.

Print Sizes:

The sizes listed in the selection panel refer to the actual image size — the dimensions of the photographic image itself.

Additional borders:

  • All fine art prints include an additional 5cm white border around all sides. This border provides space for matting and framing, and is where the print is signed and numbered.

  • Canvas prints also include an additional 7cm border on all sides to allow for stretching. The border colour can be customised to suit the image and your preference.

Example (fine art prints):

Finished frame size (approx) : 94 x 74 cm

Unframed Prints

Shipping is included in the purchase price of all unframed fine art prints (cotton rag and canvas).

After final inspection, your artwork is carefully rolled in protective materials and secured within a sturdy tube. It is then dispatched via tracked, signed, and fully insured courier.

This is a convenient way to receive your print and have it framed locally at a time that suits you. Recommended care and framing instructions are included for your framer.

I want you to have complete confidence that your artwork will arrive in perfect condition. In the very unlikely event of damage during transit, I will arrange collection and issue a replacement print at no additional cost.

International clients, please note that any import duties or local taxes are the responsibility of the purchaser.

Framed Prints

Framed prints are available for New Zealand clients as an offline, bespoke service, allowing you to receive your completed artwork ready to hang and enjoy.

Shipping costs for framed artworks are quoted separately along with the framing, depending on the materials and specifications chosen. Each framed piece is packaged using specialised protective materials and shipped with reliable, fully insured couriers to ensure safe delivery.

For international clients, I recommend purchasing unframed prints and arranging local framing to avoid potential shipping risks and costs. If you would like to explore framed international delivery, please contact me to discuss options and pricing.

A Limited Edition Print means a fixed number of prints will ever be produced of that image. I personally oversee every step of production, using the finest archival materials and museum-grade printing methods. The result is a stunning artwork that is built to last.

All prints are made with premium materials and printing methods, designed to be passed down through generations. To ensure longevity, avoid hanging prints in direct sunlight and follow the included care instructions.

No. Once an edition has sold out in its entirety, no additional prints will be produced. Each edition size is absolute and guaranteed.

Photographs may vary in format depending on the camera used. I’ve used panoramic film cameras (6 x 12 cm and 6 x 17 cm) and medium format digital cameras (100 MP), which create different image ratios. Stitching digital images can also alter the final ratio slightly.

Limited Edition Prints are made to order. Standard delivery usually takes around three weeks. If you need your artwork sooner, please contact me — I’ll do my best to accommodate your timeframe.
